Question Aerides ID needed!

I purchased this plant in early February under the name Aerides lawrenciae. I am convinced it is not the lawrenciae, and might be Aerides quinquevulnervis instead. Can anybody help me confirm this? It is strongly fragrant, with a bit of a spicy smell to it. Flowers less than 1". One pic has a flower with a dime next to it. The dime is bigger, but a bit.

It looks like there are quite a few different cultivars of Aerides lawrenceae. To me yours looks very much like lawrencea except for the speckles - There is a cultivar of lawrencea, 'D's Delight', that has speckles like yours - looks very similar.

What about the size of the cultivars? How large are the flowers? These are just so tiny compared to lawrenciae....

I definitely agree with you Roy. Have you ever seen one in person?

Yes I have and the owner wouldn't sell it. Its not commonly for sale here but its on my "want" list as I have many of the other Aerides that I want.

It's only a tiny plant at the moment. If you wait a few more years to let it grow to a more recognizable size before you totally decide what you actually have will make things a lot easier to distinguish what you actually have.
