Default Aw, no pics but aren't you omniscient?

Years ago I had a small orchid that never got more than 6" high. It had reed-like single stems (looked like tiny bamboo) that grew tiny lilac colored flowers at the tip (no spikes that I remember). Dozens of these stems would grow in a 4" pot, with each tipped by a flower it was beautiful. I believe it was deciduous. Once it put out a keiki (spelling check, anyone?) from a root. I'm thinking it was some sort of Barkeria. Thoughts?

Hey, I think I've found the answer!
Andy's Orchids has it under Epidendrum Longicaule. That's going on my list!

Everybody was so omniscient they knew that you'd find the answer on your own. It's not quite epiphytic enough for my taste but the Internet Orchid Encyclopedia has some nice in-situ photos of it.

I have a Barkeria and when it lost its leaves I thought it was dead. So I marked it as RIP in my database. Then in spring it said, "Hey, tricked you!" Now whenever an orchid loses its leaves I ask it... "are you dead or deciduous?"
