Default Hello there, help with identification please!

Hi there, I am new to the Orchid Board, having joined yesterday. I posted 3 photos of unidentified orchids in my collection. If anybody can help, I would greatly appreciate it! I posted to the member gallery.
Thank you so much!
Dan in Austin TX

Dan if you mean simply what types of orchid they are then they are Oncidium, Psychopsis and Phalaenopsis/Doritaenopsis in that order. If you mean which specific cultivars then I can't help.

Ok thank you...so the middle one is Psychopsis. That helps, now I can do some research on how to care for it.
Thank you!

Hi Dan from Austin, TX.

The plant in your first picture belongs to the Oncidium family, from there I can't help but I'm sure someone else will chime in.
The second picture, the plant with the long spike, is a Psychopsis. From the looks of the leaves it *might* be a Mendenhall but these are hard to tell apart. It is a really nice specimen tho. Never cut the spike until you are sure it is dead. Even then, only cut back to living tissue as they will branch.
The third picture is a Phalaenopsis. Very hard to give it a name but it looks (by the shape of the flower) to have a species in it's close background.

Hope this helps, from a past Corpus Christi-ian.
Al

YES...haha that's where I got it ....it is one of my favorites...because it's one that actually blooms. I love that place. It probably had a tag on it but I'm a space cadet, so....no biggie. Thanks!

Mine didn't come with a tag. I wish it had a tag so i could show it. If the psychopsis is from Its a Jungle its a Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos'. Its the only one that they sell (that I'm aware of).
