Well, I think I'm the luckiest person in the world...I've received 2 catts from an elderly lady who cannot take care of her orchid collection any longer - the best part is that both of them were in bloom when she gave them to me! However, neither have a tag or any form of identification. I know I shouldn't complain, but I like to know the names of my orchids!
This first one, I don't really understand - She has it planted in potting soil! I do everything by the book for my catts. and I can't get them to flower...hers is planted in potting soil and look at it!!
This one looks like an slc. Hsin Buu Lady 'Y.T.' that I got a couple years ago and haven't had luck with. It's not exactly the same as the pictures I have, though. Any ideas on which this is?
Ethan,
Lucky you, I'm no expert but the one without the yellow looks like Sophrolaeliocattleya Jewel Box, possibly 'Dark Waters'. My all time favourite which I have not yet been able to purchase here in Ontario. The one with the yellow could be Slc. Jewel Box 'Scheherazade' AM/AOS
