Question Lc. Longriver Compton

This is what I have of a plant tagged as 'Blc. Long River Compton'. No doubt, the tag should have been Lc. Longriver Compton had the plant not been mis-tagged. I have such a query because first, there are way too much pink on the petals and second, the flowers are NOT fragrant. Can anybody help?

Stephen

Hi ,
You are right not Long River Compton . It looks a lot like some of the Hausermann splash petals from several years ago . Is it one you have had for awhile ? Gin

I got it 4 years ago as NBS via eBay. Too bad I could not find the invoice. This was the maiden bloom. Could this possibly be Blc. Chrissy Compton. I have yet to confirm whether Blc. Chrissy Compton is fragrant or not. Incidentally, I got two NBS Blc. Chia Lin 'Red Rose' at the same time; they flowered for the first time last month but both were disappointing. One other plant I got at the same time was a Blc Chunyeah. This has been the best so far. Flowered Sept 07 and Oct08 and the flower was fragrant.

It is not Lc. Longriver Compton. Here shows a common clone, golden star, of this cross.

Question Lc Longriver Compton vs Blc Chrissy Compton

Hi Pheli,
Lc. Longriver Compton 'Gold Star' is very unique in its color. I attached with this post pictures of different Lc. Longriver Compton. I was afraid that mine was a variant; though I am skeptical. Since most USA vendors get their plants from Taiwan, do you think you can help me with this one?

Stephen,
The flowers in the second and the fourth photos do look like Lc. Longriver Compton ‘ Golden star’ because the throat part of both flowers are resemble that of common seen ‘Golden Star’. But as I know, there are some similar hybrids that look quite like this one and some are not registered. So I cannot give you a definite answer about their IDs.
