Default obscene flower :)

So my wife emailed me this pic claiming that it is an orchid and a real flower - does anyone know what this is?

At first, I had to wash my brain out with soap, but it looks like a Paph or Phrag pouch. Maybe your wife is trying to tell you something? LOL

I agree with Kim, Phrag, Paph, or maybe even a Cypripedium.

I am very dissapointed as I don't see why you consider it obsene. I came in here looking for a show and got nada. LOL. No really, I don't see it.
I do see a pouch, again, probably a Cyp of some sort.

OK now, I'm not really saying that this is obscene. I'm just being facetious.

I think it is a very pretty flower and certainly do appreciate all of the replies so far.

lol Oh I'd say thats pretty obscene!! lolol My first thought though was a bulbo of some sort. Seems too small for one of the Paph alliance. Just my 2 cents though.

I have seen lots of these in the wild... one of the few slippers that can grow in Canada. Last summer i went tree planting and they were all over the place. It is a slipper and the leaves are as delicate as the flower (i didnt mean hat in a dirty way lol) i believe its a Cypripedium acaule or pink lady slipper. Your wife was right. I tried digging one up to take back to camp with me, i even made a pot out of duct tape (I'm not kidding) but someone stepped on it at our camp
