Thank you very much for this info! So if its a Miltonidium Katrin Zoch the 'parents' are Miltonia schroederae x Oncidium ornithorynchum? Did I understand that correctly? Do you know how I'll need to care for it? Sorry, more questions ...

Suse, now for the bad news! I think that just when you have learnt the names of the parents of your plant, youl will find that the taxonomists in their wisdom have changed the names of the parents! Do a Google search for ipni.org (or the Kew Monocotyledon list) and key in the name Miltonia schroderae and see what happens. Even if I am wrong please let us know what happens. If the name has changed (as I suspect it has) I think that Miltonia schroderae has been transferred into Oncidum and if it has then your plant would just be another Oncidium! I may be confused and it may be that Odontoglossum schroderae was changed to Miltonia schroderae

the correct name is Miltonia schroederiana, and it's still a Miltonia.

Thanks for that Lambelkip but was it at one time called Odontoglossum schroderae? I am sure I had a plant once labelled as Odontoglossum schroderae which was changed to something else. May still have the plant in the mess in my greenhouse.

you're right, it was also called Odontoglossum schroederianum. schroderae has never been the correct spelling, but there's probably a quite a few labeled that way.
