That's it! That is my mystery orchid that started this discussion thread.

Thank you so much, Lynn, for identifying this orchid for me.

This very large and fragrant old-fashioned corsage-type orchid bought from Hausermann's about 15 years ago, has become one of my favorite orchids. I have divided it several times and given the divisions to friends and family members. Now I can finally tell them the name of it so they can put a label in the growing medium, as I now can.

Thank you very, very much, Lynn--

Steve

Hi, you may not believe this but I have a catalogue from Hausermanns from 1993 and a few other years before and after and the BLC with no name is the spitting image of Blc Miya's Glow x Helem Pastushin. I think that you may be able to contact Hausermanns with a picture too confirm since you have one with blooms. I don't think it is still available. But who knows. It sure is a beauty.

Thank you so much, Lorraine. Yes, this orchid is definitely the Blc. Miya's Glow x Blc. Helen Pastushin from Hausermann's, as Lynn Hausermann also identified in this thread.

I am so appreciative of yours and her identification of this favorite orchid of mine, and I'm grateful to now know the name that was lost so long ago, before the plant had bloomed the first time.

Thank you Lorraine and Lynn and everyone else who participated in this discussion thread.

Red face Photo of Blc. Miya's Glow x Blc. Helen Pastushin, first bloom, 2008

Here's a photo of the first bloom this year (October, 2008) on this favorite orchid, Blc. Miya's Glow x Blc. Helen Pastushin. Its blooms are triggered by the diminishing light of shorter days as summer turns to fall.

Thanks everyone, especially Lynn and Lorraine, for helping to identify this orchid. The greenhouse is full of its wonderful, sweet, unique fragrance right now.
