Anyone have a idea's?
Hi all, I was given this plant about a year ago and was told that they had a bunch of them for years and can't remember if they have ever bloomed. They also didn't know what it was. By the looks, it looks Vanda like but don't any more then that. I would like to get it to bloom (of course). Any Idea's what it is and how to get it to bloom?

It reminds me of my Aerides odorata...and I love the mounts you've got on the wall in back of it

I don't know what type of vanda it is but it does need a lot of water and a lot of light specially to bloom. Good looking tank you got there...what's in it?

Yup, it looks like an Aerides crossed perhaps to a vanda. Looks well grown. Lots of light and humidity. Best not to hung it under another plant. Some vandaceous won't flower till they are the tallest around.

Well I've got the light and the humidity but It has been hanging under a Avocado tree I moved into the direct light to take the picture. I will have to find it another home.

What is it on? That looks like a hummingbird feeder????
I can't make that out.
I don't have a clue what the plant is....but I'm going a little crazy trying to figure out what it's on. Also, love the plant and love the mounts in the background!

Good news I moved up higher and it has two spikes dripping with sap. I can't wait for the flowers to opens in hope of a ID. I noticed ants eating the sap, do you think this is a problem?
Sorry Kiki I just noticed you question. The plant is attached to a wire hanger and the feeder is hanging on the bottom of the hanger.

Dave, that is a nice plant! It looks a lot like my Aerides oderata, but mine is not as big! My plant has a spike now, too. It was covered with sugary sap for the last two weeks. I just rinsed it off every day with the hose. I was afraid it would attract the wrong kind of bugs. It has started to form buds now (lots of them!) and it is not nearly so sticky. Here are some pics from a couple weeks ago.
