these plants are actually bloom so predictably after a cold shower that some growers plan a good cold soaking before a show. just learned that last weekend, thought I would share.

This is one of the species that is called gregarious flowerng - all the plants in a region will flower on the same day following a stimulus like a strong rainstorm. There are Sobralias that do this and a whole valley will be in full flower for a day or two.
