The first phal. is one i got from my mother in law, and she had lost the tag.
Second is a Paph. i just couldnt walk passed at the store... This one may be a hybrid (most likely it is...), but im trying anyway!
Edit.
I was just told the Paph. most likely was a Paph. primulinum or Paph. pinocchio (hybrid between Paph.glaucophyllum x Paph. primulinum)
Could this be right? *Please be*
This is Paph Pinocchio. This specific flower is about the 8th or 9th on the same spike....they just keep on growing out! The color on your paph may look different to me because of my computer monitor and the way you took the picture....
As for the phal...good luck ....just joking It is just that almost any hybrid is a tough call for ID...nice flowers...both of them whatever they are!
Hm...thats not like mine at all... Same shape, but different colors...
Paph. primulinum has the colors and shape, but i cant see if that ones got hairy pedals...?
Maybe. I'm thinking yours has a bit of fairrieanum var. album in it's blood. It holds the side petals back a bit and is taller than wide. The photo Doc linked to is similar (really similar) but, unless the photo is distorted, the proportains are all wrong (to me.)
Ross, i think you may be right... Ive starred at those two pics several times, and ive compared the link to the actual flowers. It seems like the petals the "Golden Child" are a bit wider than on my chid, and the cup are a bit wider on the G.C as well....
Damn... It would be so nice to know what this beauty comes from.

Oh, well...its still beautyfull.
You are sooooo right on! I also like this flower! That's why I studied it so much. I have fairrieanum (but not the album variety) and would love to collect the one you have.
I would say that it is Paph. primulinum V. flavum. The other variety of primulinum has other slight violet tinges in the flowers and on the backs of the leaves, wheras the falvum is pure green (the color is called Anthocyanin in literature on color dominance)
I actually don't think there is any fairrieanum blood in this unknown paph. The dorsal stripes on fairrieanum are usually very dominant in fairrieanum offsprings but this paph has a very clean green dorsal. I am leaning towards a hybrid such as Paph. Avalon Mist.
