Could you help me identify my orchid?
Default Could you help me identify my orchid?

Hi guys and girls. I'm new to the group. 29 year old guy here in Tennessee. Recently I inherited an orchid that a from a friend. She wasn't really interested in keeping it (long story), so I told her I would take it. The blooms are pretty, but its a pitiful looking thing. I'm pretty sure it needs to be repotted, and given some fertilizer. If you can help me identify it, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've included a picture of it. Also, if you do know what type of orchid it is, perhaps you could also include some basic care tips to give this little fellow a fighting chance. Thanks so much in advance!

to OB Chris. what you have there is a Phalenopsis orchid. If it did not have a tag, it is probably a hybrid. What do the roots look like. what are your growing conditions like. ie how much light, humidity, air movement

Hi Chris,
As Lecent said, you have a Phalaenopsis hybrid. Without a label it will be practically impossible to give it a name.

We really need a pic of the leaves/pot to tell you more. I suspect that it has been over watered, the number 1 killer of phals, but really can't tell you much without seeing the leaves and roots.
