Vanilla barbellata
Good hike today in the Keys in search of native plants that we can pollinate to contribute to genetic diversity for the Fairchild Million Orchid Project. Found at least a dozen mature specimens. Now we have a couple months before flowering to figure out ownership/oversight responsibility, permitting, yada yada. Fortunately we have a lot of key individuals behind this project that are committed to making us successful with the bureaucracy part so we're about to find out if it really can happen.
