Small Vanda orchids?

Hello everyone, happy growing.

I had this Vanda 3 years ago, I found it abandoned tangled in a tree, I thought it was a sapling of a Papilionanda T.M.A. However, so much time has passed and she is still small.

I'm starting to think that more than being a sprout, it's a kind of little Vanda.


Do you know of any genus of Vanda with succulent leaves of this size?

PS: I know very well that identifying an Orchid by its leaves is difficult, I want to at least have an idea, even if it is vague, of the genus to which it belongs.

Could be Holcoglossum. Without flowers impossible to get to the species level, but many of these stay small - and do often have terete leaves. There are several other small Vandaceous genera that would also be possibilities.

If the OP is indeed in Venezuela, of course a Vandaceous orchid would not be native. (They're all Asian) But if this is a populated area where people keep cultivated orchids (and may mount them on trees), it still could be. If this is in a wild area, a different story.

There have been a number of intergeneric hybrids with Holcoglossum reaching the market the last 3-5 years. Though whether they have made it to Venezuela is questionable.

The Papilionanda, the Papilionanthe and the purple vandas are what you see the most, however, until now I have not seen mini vandas

However, the importation of plants has been greatly compromised by the problems in obtaining permits. There are no current plants or hybrids, at least for 10 years
