James Bond Film MOONRAKER - Orchid ID. Help!

Hi,
In the James Bond film MOONRAKER, an orchid is mentioned ( which I know does not exist) called Orchidae Nigra.
The pollen of which, has been genetically modified by Hugo Drax, The baddie in the film, to kill all mankind... typical Bond plot :-)

There are however, Glass globes with Orchids inside them in the film and I was wondering if these are real orchids and whether someone here could ID them for me??

They are not real.

What is it that you like about them?
I took a look and the leaves, at least, look fake.
The flowers might be from an Odontoglossum/Miltassia or based on one.
If you are interested in growing small orchids in a small terrarium, there are many cool orchids that do well under these circumstances (check out Haraella rectrocalla/oderata or the Pleurothallidinae subtribe--i.e. Lepanthes).

I’m doing some research for a book about the film and it would be great to find out if they were real but called something different, or whether they were fake flowers.
I’ll have a look at the Odontoglossum/Miltassia you mention to see if the flowers match .

eBay used to be a good source for “orchid seeds”, too.

The leaves look like a Stag's Horn Fern (platycerium)
