Morning everyone!
I purchased a Mexipedium xerophyticum in April, it is starting to send out new growths, along with a new plant that I don’t recognize. Any ideas as to what this is?
Thank for any help!

I don't know what it is, but I have something that looks similar -that one looks like it is getting ready to flower, and likely to leave babies all over the place.

I'm wondering whether it's some kind of gesneriad. The flowers will be the tell.

I have those too! I wasn't able to identify even with the nice pink flowers! I'd love to know, they get everywhere and even grow in my SH pots.

I reached out to the vendor and this was his reply
"That is a weed that was planted in Hawaii to stabilize hillsides. Don't let it set seed or you will have them everywhere"

So! It's off with it's head!!!

Yes, they must have some sort of explosive seed dispersal. It will be in all your pots

I've looked at several Hawaii weed sites and can't find it. I would let it flower and take a photo to try and figure it out.
