The size IS normal for this Phal. It has miniature species (such as Phal equestris) in its ancestry, which leads to lots of small flowers on branching inflorescenses. Hybrids are impossible to identify, there are so many that look similar. So if you want a full-size Phal with a particular appearance, you'll want to buy one in bloom so you see what you're getting. Just as with dogs, roses, and other "life forms" that people want in their lives, breeders select parents for particular characteristics. If they want different characteristics, they'll select different parents.
