3 Blooming Orchids

This is a picture of my 3 blooming orchids. First time I have had the blooming together. The Phal has been blooming since Dec 1. The Phragmipedium finally bloomed 2 weeks ago and the other 2 bloom are starting to open, be nice is they last as long as the Phal. The Cat just started to bloom 2 days ago, I love the colour of it.

I don't think the phrag will last as long as the phal. Phals are kind of the prize winner in the long-lasting competition.

On the other hand, Phrags can produce new flowers sequentially. Still don't beat Phals of course, but that habit does extend the show.

Do you need an oncidium or a dendrobium?

Thanks very much for the offer, I am not sure they would survive a trip that long a distance. I do have some dendrobiums, they are still small but have several new grows growing. We got these when we were in Hawaii at one of the growers. It was a great time there.

Perhaps the second longest-lasting should be the Latouria Dendrobium Atroviolacia or its kin. Mine last 4-5 months, but by 5th month start to look moth-eaten so I cut them off. They are also winter bloomers so they can sit beside the phalenopsis at the same time.
