Not sure what genus even, discounted for being out of bloom at a hardware store.

So I gave this one to my mom about three years ago and it didn't take long for the tag to get lost. I don't even remember the genus.

I have a suspicion what it might be but I'll be embarrassed if I'm wrong so I'll keep it secret.

The longest pbulb is about 7 inches not counting leaves, the main rhizome on the larger division looks like it used to be a pbulb and is a little bit longer than 7". Most of the new growths are about 3" minus leaves, but are still growing and they have a little onion base this year that I never saw in last year's growth. I think they just need more and bigger roots, and I recently started using ferts and the roots grew thicker and started branching more, and the new growths just look juicier and healthier than ever. I think they like what I've been doing so far!

It's a Dendrobium. I suspect it's a Den. phalaenopsis type.

Hmm, when I think of Dendrobium I see a tall cane with oppositely paired leaves, similar in size ascending the cane held parallel to the ground and within a single plane almost like a ladder. I have a feeling they don't get quite enough light but they're on the same branches as phals which are older and have more sentimental value so they might just have to suffer. I think they're looking pretty good though

There are quite a lot from minis, to the Australian, to the Latouria, gosh, so many dendrobiums in the tribe.

They do need nearly Cattleya Light to bloom.

So I've been researching the Dendrobiums and I'm leaning towards them being den-phals?

Now I see! Before I saw that post I looked up Dendrobiums and didn't see the new reply before I posted. My eyes aren't what they used to be

And those new canes are more oppositely aranged than they were the past couple years. And they're not curling like the canes used to!
