Default Mystery flower

This is for you flower people out there, this flower (whatever it is) has grown up in the same pot as my Vanda orchid. The orchid has been in the pot for several years but has not grown anymore. It is in an old aquarium that has 5 other orchids, I have no idea what the flower is or how it got to start growing after all this time, if you have an idea let me know,
Ron
p.s. the vanda has been in this pot for about 5 or 6 years and I have seen no new leaves or anything. It's a mystery to me how the flower got there.

Looks like a tuberous begonia.

Begonia seed is tiny, like dust. It is not supposed to remain viable very long, so it probably didn't come with the Vanda. Perhaps another plant you put in there recently brought some stray Begonia seed from the nursery?

Vandas don't grow much if they don't get warm enough temperatures, high light and plenty of fertilizer. What is the name of your Vanda?

What's the name of your Vanda?

You should be able to grow and bloom them at your latitude, but as mentioned before they need some warmth, food, and lots of light. Unles you have some high powered lights in that tank it would likely do better on a windowsill.

Vandas also appreciate good air flow around the roots, which is why most are grown bareroot, or in some cases potted in a very coarse substrate. Seeing how happy that begonia looks, I'm going to guess that the substrate is fairly fine and water retentive.
