any thoughts? tall plant, mainly bifoliate growths to about 24 inches in height

Reminds me of Guarianthe x guatemalensis or something with aurantiaca/skinneri/deckeri in it.

What is Barbara kirsch? Is that the possible grex?

I agree that It looks like Guarianthe (guatamalensis looks close) and that veining inside the lip makes me think of one of the big monofloiate cats. It also seems to have some spots on the petals....
