Favorite Primary Hybrid

I just received a cattleya Fulvacens (forbesii x dowiana) and I realized I have a thing for primary hybrids as most of my recent purchases have been cattleya species crosses. Inspired by the Nodosa hybrid thread, I thought this would be a good topic, although dangerous to my bank account. Show me your favorites!

Are you asking what our favorite primary hybrids are (if we have any that is)? If you are then my answer is either Phal. Little Sister (equestris x maculata) or Phal. Winganiae (schilleriana x stuartiana). The first because of its beautiful flowers and the second because of its gorgeous mottled foliage and pretty flowers.

If the vendor had had Phal Little Sister when I ordered, I'd definitely gotten it again.

I'm still waiting for the first two to bloom (in a few years...)

I second the Triumphans and Hardyana! I'll add to that Cattleya Zip - just picked up two SVO seedlings.

Cattleya Quinquecolor (forbesii x aclandiae). The C. forbesii parent gives it great cold tolerance (I grow it outside with no protection, it's pretty bulletproof), and blooming 2 or 3 times a year. C. aclandiae provides the aesthetics and fragrance.

Triumphans, along with Cattleya Rex, has been number one and two on my list for years!

Just did a Google search and I found Richard Mueller x Triumphans at Walmart.com of all places. Kind of a coincidence considering this thread and the brassavola hybrid thread

I feel compelled to cheat a bit. Not quite primary hybrid, but close enough in my book. I received a gift of Phal Summer Rose 'Blue Star' from a friend sometime in 2020. Seed parent Phal Kenneth Schubert (Phal pulcherrima x Phal violacea) x Pollen parent Phal equestris.

It's become my very favorite phal, period. One spike of bloom lasted literally from first bud open April of 2021 to last bloom dropped February 2022. I think I see a new spike starting now.
