I just got this guy at the grocery store. It sort of looks like a phal but the leaves look off. I’m also not sure if this is one or two orchids. The leaf stems are very close together. Any ideas on what it is? And any care tips are more than welcome. Thanks.

(I did do a quick health check before buying. The roots are pretty healthy, lots of good green, a little rot but that’s unfortunately to be expected from grocery stores. There was only one bad leaf which has already fallen off and the flowers are healthy with new spikes growing from older nodes. Generally speaking he looks pretty happy.)

Yes, that's a Phal. It looks like two plants in the pot. Keep it warm and water when the medium is almost dry. If it's in sphagnum moss don't soak the moss. Just run some water over the top for a second to water.

Have a look at a thread here that teaches how to grow Phals. From the left yellow menu choose Forums then Beginners. Near the top look for the sticky thread The Phal abuse stops here.

That’s interesting. I’ve never seen a phal with leaves like that. Is it possible it’s a different variant from the one that is most common one found in grocery stores?
