Miltonia or Miltoniopsis?
Default Miltonia or Miltoniopsis?

I bought my first ‘non Phalaenopsis’ but I’m unsure because of the labelling as to what it is. The receipt and little card stake said Princess Diana Miltonia. However, the shelf label and the plant passport say it is Princess Diana Miltoniopsis. It was in bud when I bought it from the newly opened shop at the RHS Bridgewater Gardens, Worsley. Within a week the first buds started to open, and four weeks later they are all open with this glorious display.

Do I go by the receipt or the plant passport stamped on the pot?

Just as info...One easy way to tell is Miltoniopsis has one leaf at the apex (top) of the pseudobulb and Miltonia have two leaves at the apex.

Thank you. Great information I did not know. Any idea why there is no scent?
