I *think* It's a Cattleya?

Hi all - It's been years since I've been in this forum. I recently "rescued" an orchid from my mother. It suddenly isn't doing so well and she said it hasn't flowered in years. First off I want to make sure I'm researching the proper info so I need to know exactly what kind of orchid it is. I think it might be a Cattleya, but not sure. Can you guys help? See attached pics. I'm attaching a few so you can also see the "issues" I'm having with it....yellowing leaves, drooping, splitting leaves, etc. But some new growth and nice, bright greenness in some areas near its base??

Welcome back!

Definitely a Catt. If the new growth is green and firm, I wouldn't worry too much about the older growth. The yellow leaf looks like it also might have gotten a bit of sunburn. Won't hurt, will just look ugly until the leaf drops naturally. The medium looks good. Was it recently repotted? It's possible (likely) that roots on the older part of the plant aren't so so good, which leads to the drooping soft leaves. New growth will produce new roots, so that going forward the plant will do much better.

What temperatures/humidity do you have? It looks quite dry to me. How often are you watering it?

I actually thought it was dry to maybe. I don’t think my mom was watering it enough. The humidity is normal (around 50% indoors). All my other orchids (Phals) are doing great in this particular room.

I think just the usual. That very open mix will dry out fast (excellent), so increasing the watering would be useful, I think.
