Default Phalaenopsis - any ideas as to parentage?
Hi
I have a NOID Phal that I bought about 3 years ago. It was in bud at the time with a hint of pink/red on the buds so I expected something in that range but I was delighted when it opened a deep burgundy. The first pic is the nearest to the true colour. The bloom has a different shape to all my other large phals which are large and very rounded.
I know I will never find out the exact ID but I wondered if anyone could give me any clues that I could use to try and obtain another similar one.

Based upon the lip, I'd speculate it has Phal. schilleriana in it.
