Strange Spike.

Hi to everyone, may I ask please what is this strange Bud/Spike ? It’s been on the plant for a while now but little has happened for a long time. Anyone has ideas ?

Hi Nilo, it looks like a new flower bud is forming with a leaf.
It's a sort of mutation you see more and more on hybrids these days.
Sometimes phals will produce a new little plant on bud sites but sometimes they can't quite decide and something mutated like yours develops. It could still form into what is known as a keiki or it will just stay one lonely leaf.
A keiki will take at least a year before it can be cut off and removed from the main plant if it does turn into one.
