A few phals I picked up from Kroger. I love the colors and they seem to be in good health.

Thank you in advance if anyone knows what they are officially called. I've already started giving them human names...lol

Of all the noid phals I find at the store, the purple ink blot ones are just my favorite!

Don't worry about the names and just enjoy.

Unless a specifically labeled plant, so many of the Phals available at groceries are hybridized at the whim of the grower, no records kept. There are way too many hybrids, named and un-named, that look very similar to one another to be able to ID from photos (sorry).

While I agree with all of the above, not all hope is lost!

Did the plants come with labels of any kind? If you search for the nursery online, some of the commercial mass producers will have a product catalogue online. If you do get lucky usually the name will be a trade name and not a proper registered name. I usually do some research on the trade name afterwards, and discover that the plant also has a proper name as well. I managed to ID my Phal Wiganiae (schilleriana x stuartiana) this way (was named Phal Philadelphia in the catalogue), with confirmation from the grower who was kind enough to reply to my email
