Default Sarcochilus roseus

Hi all!!!

Just looking into this orchid Sarcochilus roseus, which the IOSPE photo site has an image - kindly supplied by Ray ----- Click Here.

I saw a couple of pics in different places of roseus ---- with description and observation of the roseus lip being relatively smooth -- not overly hairy -- and having no incisions along the lip.

One of the pics (which is rather small, but can still see a bit) of a roseus flower - is at Click Here

I think it's possible that the IOSPE image isn't one of Sarcochilus roseus.

Ray ----- I don't mind if it is or is not ----- only just noticed it! So just commenting only. But on the other hand, I can't see the lip 100% clearly for the IOSPE pic.

What can I say - that's how it was labeled... It was another loss to the "big freeze".

If you can provide another photo, definitely contact Jay Pfahl.

Oh geeez ------ I heard about that freeze from you before! Sorry to hear that particular sarco was lost.

I haven't got a roseus. But maybe (hopefully) I can acquire one sometime in the future.

If you still have your photo in high resolution, and if the lip looks like the same as this one HERE, then the flower in your photo will be a roseus. I can't tell at the moment, as I can't focus in on the lip region in your photo. Wonderful flower you had there !!!!!

Inspecting the web-link details allowed that 'bigger' pic to be seen, instead of the smaller pic from the main page from the Australasian Native Orchid Society.

Also, the description : "sparsely hairy flowers" isn't correct for roseus.
