Found a flower on the trail today.
Fairly sure it's an orchid. Any one know what it might be? Just stood out in the area since there was no other growth. Looked really nice and I wanted to learn more about it.

Cypripedium acaule or pink lady’s slipper. Frequently grows in sandy pine woods and is widespread in eastern US.

Chris17 is right on in his ID. This is one of the earliest slipper orchids to bloom. Here in Michigan I've hiked a small state park where I stopped counting after the 125th I found in bloom.

Found a nice colony of acaule at my golf course in NH yesterday. Probably 50 flowers, 1/3 of which were white the rest standard pink. Very pretty show.

Here's a lousy pic my golf buddy took yesterday.
You'll probably have to blow it up to see anything.
