Mormodes species

I have a plant that was labeled Mormodes dressleri but it does not quite look like that.

Any thoughts..

Strange, I have checked several sources and there are no records of any species or hybrid called Mormodes dressleri anywhere other than woodstream orchids (a vendor) and an obscure flickr page. This is certainly stumper!

There doesn't appear to be too many online images of Mormodes dressleri from reputable enough sources. Maybe a chat with Woodstream will be good here.

According to woodstream it is a recently described species, but I have not been able to find any articles on it. Also the photo url they provide seems to be pretty old (which coincides with the old look of the picture as well). It makes me wonder if perhaps it was officially described under a different name later on or turned out to be an already described species.

I have had the plant for 10 yrs or so. It was bought from Woodstream at, maybe, the Paph forum.

Yeah, I am kind of thinking that it got collapsed back into an existing species but I cannot find any info.

Yeah, its strange, usually Plants Of the World Online will list old names (which is super useful for keeping up to date on taxonomy) , but they don't have any results on the name at all, not even as a synonym. I am looking through the Mormodes species to see if I can find a sp that matches. A picture showing the whole plant could help a lot.

So far M. powellii is the closest match I have found, but there many similar species.

My best guess is Mormodes buccinator but mine has no red spots but a red blush over the orange
