Hi,

There's a tree in my garden which recently had a few branches cut off. After this, some of the inner branches became visible which have a few plants hanging on them. These plants look like Vandas. One of them must have fallen over from the breeze so I got a closer look at it. It has a structure growing out of it which I don't quite recognize. Although when I watered the roots, they did sort of turn green like velamen does.

There seem to be 3-4 of them attached to the tree:

What is this structure growing out of it ? :

Hi, They certainly look like Vandas, very mature ones. They could very well be seed pods on it

Interesting

Thank you for the confirmation!
I had completely forgotten about seed pods and never considered that.
Missed to see what the flowers looked like

Certainly something vandaeceous, it could be another member of the alliance though I think. Take this all with a grain of salt though as I don't know the orchids in your area very well.
