What little tiny orchid could this be?
Hi, the local gardener's store was about to throw out this minuscule mounted orchid (leaves are 2 - 3 mm long) and I got it instead. Any thoughts on what it is and especially how to care for it? I mounted it (well, wrapped thread around it) on a piece of bark and put it inside a glass container which a gift had outgrown, with some moss & companions. Is this ok? Do I spray it, dunk it, what about light and fertilizer? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thank you! Perhaps some dunking is in order, to get it started in its new environment? Any thoughts on light requirements?

I can't guess what it is, but the plan to get it rehydrated sounds like a good one. (Dunking probably not necessary, spraying a couple of times a day, plus the humidity from the other plants, should give it what it needs. And not knowing what it is, intermediate temperatures (not colder than about 60 deg F) and indirect light. Fertilizer is the least important thing, you could give it a bit when you feed your other plants, but it's not a high priority. Good rescue!

How was it being cared for at the store? Any info local store guy might give you would be a plus.

That poor baby looks so dehydrated, I think that for now it needs water. Once it plumps up, you'll have a better idea of at least what group it belongs in.

Update: are those algae?
Howdy, a little update on this micro-orchid: it's still alive (at least part of it is), but I was wondering if the dark green stuff growing on some of the roots are algae? If so, are they bad for the plant and if so, what should I do about it? Thanks for any advice!
