Stenosarcos or Stenorrhynchos?

So...

I’d decided that I wanted Stenosarcos Vanguard ‘Fireball’ or Stenorrhynchos speciosum to fill a particular niche. Vender choice was limited. I was leaning towards the Stenorrhynchos but the plant pictured on the vendor’s website that had it in stock didn’t have very attractive leaves. The other vendor had both species pictured (very nice looking Stenorrynchos) but only the Stenosarcos was in stock. I ended up ordering the Stenosarcos.

I got my plant, it’s awesome, it’s labeled Stenosarcos Vanguard ‘Fireball’. But, it looks like the really nice out of stock Stenorrhynchos speciosum?!? Thoughts?

I can take better pictures tomorrow if these aren’t enough to go on.

I believe it's mislabeled. That's not Vanguard.[COLOR="Silver"]

It does look more like Stenorrhynchos speciosum (which is also quite variable - on mine the leaves are darker and the spots less dramatic) Great catch! Enjoy!

Thanks Dolly & Roberta! I was thinking the vendor photo didn’t represent the Vanguard’s color very well and that the Vanguard ‘Fireball’ and S. speciosum weren’t that different after all. Then, I saw Dolly’s plant...

I contacted the vendor for confirmation because I would like to label it properly. They had a few Vanguard ‘Fireball’ in stock when I ordered but have since sold out. I wonder if they were all actually S. speciosum?
