Harlequin-type Phal...ID?

A super rare Home Depot find 6 years ago. Blooms most of the year, sometimes I think it only takes 3-4 months off...Any ideas as to what it could be?

A great find! Enjoy! However, there are many hybrids with similar characteristics, so a definite ID is impossible. It must remain a NOID ...a very lovely and vigorous one.

Very nice Phalaenopsis! I’ve got some great ones at Home Depot too. Without a tag, it’s next to impossible to get a definitive ID. From a few that I’ve bought with tags, they seem to get a lot of orchids from: Phalaenopsis for sale, Taiwan Phalaenopsis nursery – Gan Lin and Taiwan orchid, Taiwan Phalaenopsis - Shulong Flowers . I’ve been able to find identical matches for some of my untagged plants on their websites. I still regard IDs made this way as tentative but it’s kind of fun looking through the options.

Most of the tagged plants that I have purchased from box stores aren’t registered varieties so even with a name there’s no tracking down ancestry.

My favorite Phalaenopsis is a NOID I bought from Albertsons a few years back. They’ve never got more in like it and I haven’t seen a match online. I have a horde of NOID Phalaenopsis and I bought some keiki formula to try to make backups of my favorites because I’d have no hope of finding a replacement. I like named plants, but some of the NOIDs are just too good to pass up: sounds like yours is in this category too :-)

Wow! Thanks so much for those websites—I will have to peruse those pages of things I will probably now want. I like the idea of putting some Keiki paste on a node. I would be so sad if I lose this one with no back-up!! Thanks for the idea! Any tips for successfully making a Keiki?
