What to label my Den. Pierardii?
Dendrobium aphyllum
Dendrobium cucullatum
Dendrobium pierardii
Frank?
I think aphyllum is the correct accepted name but I don’t claim to know how the labeling part of taxonomy works
Thanks for the input

Personally, I like Frank best. Catchy, short, easy to remember.

It's not going to come when you call it, so I don't think it's too critical.

For these (I do the same for Epi porpax which also has been through excessive renaming) I just point at it and say "Hey, YOU!"

I can't stop laughing after reading this thread... At work I have nearly daily interactions with one of our partners, and his name is Frank! So I got a good giggle out of the photo of Frank the orchid.

Camille.
I am delighted that my infantile humor has resonated with you! It’s also random chance as i often use “Ralph” as my generic, humorous name and I don’t know what led me to “Frank” lol.
But, it’s his name now so, welcome to the family hahaha

More seriously though, I really have no idea what the current accepted name is for this species. It seems confusing from what I read online.
I hope Frank will be happy with his new name and decide to produce lots of blooms!
