I understand that reed steem Epis readily hybridize, in particular along roads, which open up new 'territory' for these plants. Thus, this could easily be a first generation hybrid, or even a hybrid bred back to one of the parents.
Side bar: Most of the radicans & ibaguense I have seen were in the orange to red color range. I guess that yellow (forma flavum) could exist in both species, so this is not a solid indicator.
