Please ID Roadside Orchid

On long stalk in Colombia.

Either Epidendrum ibaguense or E. radicans.

I thought they were synonymous, but orchidspecies.com says otherwise.

Thank you very much Ray. I have a list from Valle Del Cauca that shows both species. Evidently a difference is E, radicals has rootlets growing all along the stem while E.ibaguense does not. Unfortunately my photo doesn't;t show the stalk where it has leaves.

I understand that reed steem Epis readily hybridize, in particular along roads, which open up new 'territory' for these plants. Thus, this could easily be a first generation hybrid, or even a hybrid bred back to one of the parents.

Side bar: Most of the radicans & ibaguense I have seen were in the orange to red color range. I guess that yellow (forma flavum) could exist in both species, so this is not a solid indicator.

What elevation was the plant found at?

If it was a high elevation, maybe it could possibly be Epidendrum xanthinum.

I hear those are yellow and not that uncommon at certain elevations in Colombia and Brazil and may grow terrestrially (maybe near roadsides).

I have a few of the radicans and they are bright orange to red but look identical to these in shape and size

Elevation about 1800m. Thank you very much. A difficult ID. I hope to get a chance to see it again and examine it more closely.
