Well, it's certainly not native to Costa Rica... Looks to me like Cymbidium tracyanum, Cym. iridioides or a hybrid of containing one or more of them. One of our Cymbidium experts can probably get much closer to an ID.

(Cyms do grow just fine at the higher elevations of the tropical Americas... my "Aha!" moment for learning to grow equatorial Andean orchids in my southern California USA back yard was when, on a trip to Ecuador, I walked into the home of the owner of Ecuagenera, to see lots of happy, blooming Cymbidiums - which grow easily where I live, tolerating cold and requiring a day-night temperature drop in the fall. Ever since then, I have been doing much better with those Andean orchid species that I love - they can tolerate cold, and they experience a much larger temperature range than I had thought before I saw these) Cyms originally come from Asia, but they are very much at home all over the world where they get the conditions that they need.

The flower looks like tracyanum, but the plant is too small. It is one of the related species (or a hybrid).
