Question Dendrobium Phalaenopsis with dark purple flowers

I believe this is a type of dendrobium phalaenopsis but can’t figure out the exact name. I’ve had it for a while but it struggled until I recently repotted it.

Beautiful! It will have to stay NOID, though... there are many hybrids, that look similar, so an exact ID is impossible. You have correctly identified it as a phalaenopsis-type Dendrobium, and it clearly has thrived with your care.

It's very nice. There is one called "Purple Happiness" that is pretty dark, so yours may have a similar background, some ancestors in common. But as Roberta said, it will always be a NOID unless you have some sort of label or can consult the grower.

Thumbs up

Thank you Roberta and fishmom. I too found the “happiness” one online but it’s flowers were not as dark and the shape of the lip was a little different. Maybe the darkness will fade a little more as the buds fully open but I hope not 😁

I'm not 100% but this looks a lot like my dendrobium Airy Crimson

Oh wow, that is pretty much a perfect match! Thank you so much! A quick google search brings up Dens identical to mine but it still seems to be a NOID I believe. Just a random hybrid given a catchy name.
