What kind of Orchid is this? Peloric Phal?
Default What kind of Orchid is this? Peloric Phal?

Hello! I'm very new to the orchid hobby and found this orchid at my local grocery store. The flowers seem like a peloric phalaenopsis but the stem and leaves look nothing like the phals I have or have seen?

It is a peloric phal. The leaves and stem look normal to me.

A peloric Phal. A peloric orchid flower has the lip pattern (or variant of it) repeated in the petals. A bit difficult to tell with the petals not fully opened, but they do seem to have that pattern. Actually beyond peloric, they look a bit mutant, with structure as well as pattern repeated. Plant structure looks normal to me too.
