Default What the heck is this that popped up in my yard?!?!

Totally random spike popped up in the empty dirt spot that used to be my compost area. I'm used to that now because it happens a lot because of all the seeds and plant parts that have ended up there, so I let it grow. Originally I figured it was an Avocado because that's usually what I get. What I'm not used to is instead of leaves opening up, it developed these little orchid like flowers.

Please help ID. Here are the deets:
  • Has a corm
  • No leaves
  • Terrestrial
  • Loc South Florida

I agree, FWIW. I would remove it from your mulch pile and pot it, if you want to keep it, and I'd also remove any seed pods that form. Although it's not technically listed as invasive, it looks as though it certainly could be.
