Phal. I-Hsin The Big Bang

This is a longshot, I know, but does anybody know where I can acquire one of these? I believe I've also seen it listed with a couple different cultivar names. (And please forgive me if I've got the nomenclature wrong.) I saw my first one at our society's orchid show last year and fell in love with the colors and pattern of the flowers. It's very unique and right up my alley. I saw another one at my society meeting last month, but, unfortunately, the member who owns it has had it a long time and cannot remember where it came from. I've Googled -- a lot -- and, yes, there is one vendor out there who is advertising them for sale, for a hefty price -- but it is a vendor with pretty dismal reviews, not only here but from many sources, so I am very apprehensive. I'm open to any other ideas.

I’ve seen these for sale at Hobby Growing in the past. I know they have very mixed reviews. I ordered 5 Phals from them a few months back, and was very happy with the condition of the plants. So far those that have bloomed are what I ordered and the others are in spike now so I’ll have confirmation on them soon.

I liked the look of the Big Bang too. I’m not super picky on names and Trader Joe’s got in a virtually identical NOID over the summer and I bought it for ~$14. If you don’t need labels it might be worth trolling the box stores since most are getting an influx of Valentines Day orchids right now.

Thanks Alice. The vendor you mention is the only place I've seen them for sale. I have nothing at all against NOIDs, and if I happen across one I like, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it. I'm in Trader Joe's on a regular basis. Orchid show season is starting up around here, too, so I'll be making the rounds.
