Elliot, you are gonna love this little guy. I bought one in bloom last July and it just dropped it's last flower on Sunday! Not only that but it is growing a Keiki AND a brand new spike!! This is the Phal that just keeps on giving. There are so many color variations on it too.
My plant has spent the winter under two florescent growbulbs from Walmart, and sometimes gets some filtered sunlight in the afternoon (maybe twice per week... it is very gray here in the winter!). It has also been pretty cool in here all season (about 68-72 degrees on a WARM day...!), which I think has resulted in the fairly intense coloration. I keep it pretty moist all the time and fertilize with every watering, but I also cut small slits in the side of the pot, so the roots get plenty of air. Other than that, the plant has done the rest!

it was my first orchid in Europe, and therefore I have a especial feeling for it. After having lost my first plant long ago, I manage to get two new one: type and alba...
I specially love the high variability you find within the species. My type plant for comparison...
