Grocery Store Phal Collection
I am a collector of beautiful things and this orchid obsession has hit me heard and fast.
I now need a larger shelf to keep them on and my husband will hopefully be putting up a big reclaimed piece of wood for me to display them all on...it's a little cramped right now.
I seem to be keeping the current ones alive and continuing to bloom (some with flowers since the beginning of March).
My goal is to have the ones without spikes respike/bloom and the others do the same once their current ones die off...otherwise I will have a nice collection of green leaves.
All of these but one (the big white "waterfall" one) have been either given to me from clients or were bought at extreme discounts, so it is at least a cheap hobby...for now.
I am on the hunt for a nice orange coloured one if such a thing exists.
Thanks
Jenna

All of them are beautiful!
Hausermann's often has orange Phals. They have been in business a long time and their Phals are very nice. If you want them 'in bud' or in bloom, though, you need to make certain the orchid is described as such. I bought three Phals this past winter and none were to be in bud/bloom but all of them ended up being in spike so I got very lucky. That is not always the case. Here is the link:

Peter Lin at Big Leaf Orchids is another quality vendor, and I see that he has a couple of nice orangey-colored plants. He is a member here, as well as being an excellent hybridizer.

Lovely collection! Most of my Phals are grocery store buys too. I don’t know if you have Home Depot stores by you, but the ones near me all just got in these little red orange Phals that look a lot like Phal. Yushan Sunset 'Sweet' and smell amazing (usually the stores here keep them on a dark bottom shelf where they don’t release fragrance but when I went in one had been left out and I could smell it from 6 feet away). If they are in fact Yushan Sunset 'Sweet' and you want a scented orangish Phal. orchids.com has them although theirs look more pink (but it could be the lighting).
