I love phals, too, and get all of mine at the grocery or home store. I repot after they are done blooming. Some do great, others not so much. Despite my slow success, they are a great hobby and have kept my interest. There are so many gorgeous colors in phals. I have one dendrobium that I love, too. Good luck!

I have a little Phal that I just love that came from Trader Joe's. I do not have space and am not adding to the collection right now but I always need to admire the Phals when I see a display.

Did OP ever find that orange Phal?

We have a Trader Joe's but it is on the other side of town. I will have to go, though, to see if they have anything different colors.

Our closest one is two hours away but we happened to be there and the little orchid joined the family.

I have not found an orange phal yet but my search will continue! I have made a small order from Cloud's Orchids which includes "Bulb. elassonatum" (spelling taken from their site, which I believe may be different from how majority of others spell it) and I believe will have orange flowers. I plan on going to a show in Cambridge in September and possibly joining the Southern Ontario Orchid Society to increase my knowledge and keeping skills.

My husband did pick me up the attached orchid because he thought it was super close to orange, which was funny because I also saw the same coloured one at another grocery store and bought it for the same reason....so now I have two.

Hi Jenna, I have been meaning to respond. If you are a "collector of beautiful things," you have to order a few dahlia tubers this fall. They will ship in April when they are almost ready to plant (May). I am obsessed with them as much as my orchids. They are absolutely spectacular and so easy to grow. Just need full sun and to water once a week; that's it. If you google it, the nursery I use has a bird's name in it.

@gingersmommy I will definitely look into them!

Also...I found my orange phal!! I joined the Southern Ontario Orchid Society and went to my first meeting today.

And there was this beauty and it instantly caught my eye from across the hall. I had my husband snatch it up before anyone one else could get their hands on it. The P. Chienlung Little Orange "Man" from Crystal Star Nursery. Smaller phal with a beautiful orange scent with a mix of crayon to it.

I am in love with it and was glad I saw it right away because I was approached by many people who wanted to know where I got it and it was the only one.

Thanks
Jenna
