Yes, the advice is very general, but isn't that a good place for newbies to start? There are lots of links to more in-depth information, like "repotting," "pest control," "Phalaenopsis care," etc. Plus, anyone who clicks on the link provided is here on the Orchid Board to begin with, so they're in the right place to ask more questions!
