Pelouric or what?

i rescued this delightful little noid about a year ago with three spikes, 2-3 blooms each. it's blooming again with one spike and 7 flowers. now the weird thing is the way the flowers opened. take a look:

i recall last year's blooms being a lot smaller and "standard" looking. any ideas what might have caused this mutation..?
