Phalaenopsis Kuntrarti Rarashati
I was quite disappointed when I bought this - it was tiny and supposed to be flowering size. However, to my surprise it quickly threw a spike.
The plant is about 3" wide the flowers are tiny no more than 0.5". I'm on the fence about this one, I've seen pics of ones that are much more orange and look bigger too.

When the first bloom opened, I was quite disappointed, it is growing on me, the good news for it is that because it's so small it's not taking up a lot of valuable growing space.

Yes, it will stay small, and there is quite a bit of variation in the color of these hybrids. A bit more light may boost the intensity. My plant, a "Copperstate", takes quite a bit of light, although the leaves in this picture look pretty dark.

Yours looks completely different, I guess due to the equestris parent, the lip looks a lot larger. How big is the bloom, is it scented?

Darn, I'm not at home and the plant is not in bloom, so I can't measure it. It is an old picture. I'll post if it blooms this season!

Pretty! I've always been curious about the variables which impact the flower. Can light, temp, and maturity really improve the color and form of a bloom? I've never owned a plant long enough to see for myself.

It's adorable, though I see what you mean about the disappointment, the colors are a bit washed out looking. Did you order it from Orchideen Lucke? Mine is in bud, and I hope it will be as orange as the photo they have on their site. But if yours is from there too, then I don't have high hopes.
Mine is also a small plant, so I think it's normal. Probably gets its small size from the equestris parent.

I got mine from Orchid Garden - a Polish supplier - a few months ago. Hopefully yours will be brighter, if you get a nice orange one then I may order from them.
