Largest Dark Purple Phal Question

What hybrid produces the largest dark purple classic looking phal flower?

The type of phal I was thinking about was something like Phal. Montclair King 'Cleopatra' sold by orchids.com which has large petals that mostly cover the sepals.

Of this old type of dark purple phal. which hybrids produce the largest flower sizes?

This is going to be a really difficult question to answer. There are thousands of hybrids which fit your question. My guess is that you'll have to pick one and settle for it.

The size of the flower will have much more to do with how well you take care of the plant, rather than its genetics.

I suggest you get some plants and practice. Once you understand what Phals like, and how to grow them well, contact several growers and ask them what they have that might fit the bill.

One concern with large dark purple is that plant itself is very large too. It takes up space in growing and shipping. If consumers don't demand very large flowers, smaller size flower on a more compact plant will do just fine.
