K S Happy Eagle x Germaine Vincent (C-1)

This poor thing has had a rough life. Not too long after acquiring it from Peter Lin (Big Leaf), it was, unknown to me, dumped off the back of a bench. It somehow survived for who-knows-how-long, and when I sold my greenhouse last summer, it was discovered on the floor, and I repotted it and stuck it under lights. A few months later, it was unceremoniously placed in a box and buried in foam peanuts, where it endured a month in my van and new garage, after moving to NC in December.

It is recovering slowly, and now has two spikes.

Such a 'hot' coloured flower. And a great survival story too, this story should be recounted when we have "fussing" worried posters.

Ray, that's a beautiful flower. Years ago I learned how tough Phals are.
